WHAT IS THE ICLTD?

The INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR LAW, TRADE AND DIPLOMACY, INC. ("ICLTD") is a not-for-profit, research and development corporation dedicated to developing data and information services and long-term educational programs for the Public on issues concerning international law, world trade and international diplomacy. By developing a broad variety of programs to meet the needs of diverse audiences at various education levels and information resources for educators interested in promoting innovative global studies initiatives, the ICLTD hopes to promote significant changes in the area of global education.

To make its programs accessible to the Public, the ICLTD has developed associations with a broad spectrum of community-based organizations, including professional associations and educational institutions. The ICLTD is also prepared to engage businesses, religious and civic organizations and other community and professional groups across the political spectrum. Programs developed by the ICLTD have included the participation of a range organizations with specialized knowledge and expertise on a wide variety of international issues. Programs are implemented in several different formats, including individual study programs, lectures, panel discussions, seminars and conferences. Members of the general public are afforded opportunities to interact with policy makers and experts, and pursue research and other projects consonant with the ICLTD's goal to promote public interest and engagement.

Supporting its effort to reach out to the Public, the ICLTD provides individuals, civic organizations, trade associations, schools and small businesses data and information services regarding a wide array of international issues and trends, including regional and country-specific risk management conditions.

Finally, the ICLTD seeks to contribute to the private and not-for-profit sectors' efforts to promote more effective legal and economic systems, and stronger democratic institutions in the developing world by initiating programs to advance the evolution of not-for-profit organizations in those regions. Programs that the ICLTD is prepared to engage in would include promoting information and personnel exchanges, developing and implementing research projects and organizing conferences to facilitate international cooperation.
